How Age Sneaks into the Big Picture

We put a lot of effort into smoothing lines and wrinkles on the face. If we’re not looking at the big picture, though, age can reveal itself in other ways.

• The neck. The same changes that affect the skin on the face also impact skin elsewhere. The neck has muscular bands that run in a horizontal pattern. These fibers loose elasticity and firmness when collagen levels plummet, which leads to lines and sagging. The skin on the neck may need a bit of help. This may come in the form of Botox to reduce platysmal bands, or laser skin resurfacing to improve tone, texture, and tightness.
