Just as skin conditions vary, many of the treatment programs available today offer choices in skin care that meet or greatly exceed the individual needs of each patient. Most skin care products such as cleansers, moisturizers, and sun protection are designed to maintain healthy skin, while others such as Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Alpha Hydroxy, and Glycolic acid products are designed to repair and rejuvenate aged or damaged skin.

In addition to a properly selected at-home skin care program are the many aesthetic advances in surgical and non-surgical skin care treatments. Laser resurfacing, chemical peels, Glycolic acid treatments, and Microdermabrasion have become the basis on which the perfect skin care program is built.

Vivite is an advanced skin care routine based on the combination of glycolic compounds blended with natural antioxidants. This blend deeply penetrates skin to help maximize results by promoting production of hyaluronic acid, collagen and epidermal growth. Vivite creates healthy skin and protects against environmental factors that can contribute to premature aging of the skin.

Botox® is a prescription medication that, when injected into the muscles between the brows, improves the look and appearance of moderate to severe frown lines (the 11's) between the brows. This product is similar to Dysport.

Juvederm XC is an injectable gel (hyaluronic acid) used for correction of facial wrinkles and folds, such as the nasolabial folds or parentheses lines on either side of the mouth. With the addition of lidocaine to dull the sensation of the procedure, patients note a more comfortable experience.

Dysport is a medication indicated for the lines between the brows (glabellar lines). This medication helps improve the look of these lines. This product is similar to Botox.

Restylane is an injectable gel (hyaluronic acid) used for correction of moderate to severe wrinkles and folds such as the nasolabial folds (the lines around the mouth). After procedure, as with any injectable, one can expect temporary redness at the site of injection, swelling, and possibly bruising, although not in all instances.

Perlane is an injectable gel (hyaluronic acid) used for larger volume correction of wrinkles and folds, such as the nasolabial folds. Dr. Rosenthal will decide which filler best suits your particular cosmetic needs. After procedure, as with any injectable, one can expect temporary redness at the site of injection, swelling, and possibly bruising, although not in all instances.

Chemical peels (TCA peel) are safe and effective for all skin types. With the appropriate skin care program to support the TCA chemical peel, many patients have realized dramatic results. Programs such as these are ideal for patients with darker complexions who may not be Laser resurfacing candidates, patients with acne scarring or active acne breakouts or those seeking smoother, more youthful skin. Trichloroacedic acid is applied by a trained healthcare professional to remove the top layers of damaged skin. New cells formed during healing produce tighter, more youthful-looking skin. Peeling can last for up to a week following the procedure and down time is limited to 24-48 hours after the procedure when peeling is the most prevalent.

Microdermabrasion is quickly becoming the treatment of choice by millions of men and women seeking a smoother, more refined complexion. Many patients who suffer from fine lines and wrinkles, large pores, hyperpigmentation or sun damage, or superficial acne scarring will find this treatment to be highly effective.

Microdermabrasion or particle abrasion is a treatment involving a high pressure unit and small crystals which simulate a gentle to firm "sanding" of the surface of the skin. The procedure is not painful and many patients return to work immediately with only a pink or flushed face. Microdermabrasion can be performed on the face, neck, chest, and hands. This simple procedure is performed in a series of treatments one to two weeks apart for 3, 6, or 9 weeks. It is also used in combination with Glycolic Acid Peels for the most dramatic results.
